Happy Thanksgiving too all! May your day be blessed with peace, family, friends and great food! As we celebrate this day and American tradition we can’t help be mindful of the current state of the world.
The origins of Thanksgiving was a day of charity, good will, gratitude and peace among the early American settlers and the native American Indians. An American Tradition that has lasted for hundreds of years past on down thru many generations. Today let us be more mindful of these things charity, good will, gratitude and peace than what we will eat!.
Today is the prefect setting to be part of the world’s solution rather than to be part of the problems we are having. If everyone said a prayer with their family and friends before breaking bread or carving that turkey for world peace I believe it will make a positive difference. We may not see the difference today and most likely it will be a gradual thing but with calling on God for what seems the impossible becomes possible. Luke 18:27 “What is impossible with man is possible with God.”
Here is another scripture verse and a poem that may help you with your prayer mission today:
Psalms 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord, and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance.
A poem By Helen Steiner Rice
We are faced with many problems that grow bigger day by day.
And, as we seek to solve them in our own self-sufficient way.
We keep drifting into chaos and our avarice and greed
Blinds us to the answer, that would help us in our need.
Oh, God, renew our spirit, and make us more aware
That our future is dependent, on sacrifice and prayer.
Forgive us our transgressions, and revive our faith anew
So we may all draw closer to each other, and to You.
For when a nation is too proud, to daily kneel and pray
It will crumble into chaos, and descend into decay.
So stir us with compassion, and raise our standards higher
And take away our lust for power, and make our one desire
To be a shining symbol, of all that’s great and good
As you lead us in our struggle toward newfound brotherhood.
Together we can!
This is the first day of the rest of your life and you can start right now to choose a better self and a great life!
